Designated a Unesco World Heritage site in 2003, the remarkable Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park contains the oldest karst mountain in Asia.

Son Trach village is the main centre, with an ATM, a growing range of accommodation and eating options, improving transport links with other parts of central Vietnam.

Sights & Activities :

Tu Lan Cave : (5,500,000 vnd/ 2 days tour). Tu Lan cave trip begins with a contryside hike then a swim through two spectacular river caves before emerging in an idyllic valley.

Hang Toi : (350,000 vnd/ 1 ticket) Incorporating an above-water zipline, follow by a swim into the cave, and then exploration of a pitch-black passageway of oozing mud.

Paradise Cave : (250,000 or 125,000 vnd/ 1 ticket) Surrounded by forested karts peaks, this remarkable cave system extends for 31 km, though most people only visit the first kilometer.

Phong Nha cave & Boat trip : (150,000 and 25,000 vnd/ 1 ticket, boat up : 14 people : 320,000 vnd) The spectacular boat trip through Phong Nha cave is an enjoyable, though touristy, experience, beginning in Son Trach village.

Hang Va : (9,000,000 vnd/ 1 person). Discovered in 2012, and opened to visitors in 2015, Hang Va is explored on a two-day/one night excursion that travels firstly along an underground river in Hang Nuoc Nut.

Hang En : (6,000,000 vnd/ 1 person). This gigantic cave is very close to Hang Son Doong, and featured in the same National Geographic photographic spread in 2011.
