Formerly known as Lai Chau, the small township of Muong Lay, en route from Dien Bien Phu to Sapa. After passing through one of Vietnam’s remotest regions, the new eight-lane boulevards and monumental government buildings of Lai Chau apprear like some kind of bizarre mirage.

Getting there & Away :
Lai Chau bus station : 30-4 street is 1km from the town centre. A xe om from the bus station into the town center is around 10,000 VND and a taxi around 20,000 VND.
Muong Lay small bus station there are buses to Dien Bien Phu( 80,000 VND, 4 hours) at 6.30pm and 7.30am.
